Spring Book Fairs
The first eight photos are from the Penn's Store Writer's Day Celebration in Gravel Switch, Kentucky. Penn's Store is still in operation and still owned by the Penn family. Russ gave a talk about his books and about surviving cancer. Virginia read a speech about her grandfather and read a newspaper article that he had written. Chaucer, the German Shepard, was trying to decide which book to purchase. The next photo is a member of the audience -- the cat was very interested. The Penn's Store outhouse, and only bathroom available. Beth Dotson Brown read some of her works as did Blaine Staat.
The next two photos were taken at the Southern Kentucky Book Fair in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Larry Berman, author of Perfect Spy, and Russ shared a table with Virginia -- who is obviously taking the photo.
The final photo of Virginia was taken in Evansville, Indiana, at the Midwest Writer's Guild Book Fair.
