Git is a young dog abandoned by her owners and searching for her puppies. Leaving the man who rescued her, Git treks into the woods, battles raging flood waters and is captured by her former owners who see the potential to profit by trading the dog. Chock full of adventure and excitement. (The Return of Git)
The photo is of Sweet Pea who is the real Git. She appeared at our farm, ragged and starved, in April, 1998, and she stayed until her death in May, 2010. There was a time when she did get caught on the far side of the creek when it flooded and Sweetie often went off into the woods. Many times we thought she was going to look for the puppies she had once had.

Boots is the trilogy of a rescued cat and his supposed cat-hating owner. It's a rivalry that will provoke both mirth and irony when they trade insults. Laugh along when Boots talks his way into cat-heaven. In the final episode, Boots -- The Last Days, the author parallels his own aging process with that of the cat he has come to love.
Heart of an Animal harbors the laugh you need today.
